So this guy Seagull is apparently a high ranking player. No salt here. But I play Torb a bit and honestly, I am not impressed. His gun locations are generic at best. I like to use stairs and such to give an uneven look at my sentry, making it much more difficult to hit. In his second gun spot, towards second point, he honestly has no idea where to place the gun. In his first spot, his gun was placed completely wrong, allowing people to slide by to the point with minimal damage. My gun goes behind the car, in direct line of sight with enemy approach and is ALWAYS firing. Plus, I get to hide behind my gun AND Reinhardts shield, all the while launching my lava rivits at the enemy. Its possible Torb is way down his list as far as heros and he just doesnt play him much.
I do like him! But you guys havent even played with me long enough to realize, hes not even my "self identified" main hehe. I would list Roadhog as that. But, I do think he is a beast on offense. Certain maps anyway. Its cool the community, even professionals and comp, is starting to realize hes not brittle and defensive only. I was apologized to in a comp match last night. When it started, the map was defensive and I chose torb. Omg the whining started. "Well, whatever we choose, we definitely dont need a torb". Ignore. Game on. Ended up with POTg and a 15 or so player kill streak. Enemy didnt get the first cap. Two people apologized for their starting comments. That, in and of itself, is what killed DOTA for me. In PUG groups, in comp, you have to trust each other to play the class they select. QP is for trying new strategies. Comp is for staying with what you identify as working well. But bickering at the start kills the team before they ever leave the spawn. Some folks in another group were quoting GM and pro team comp. Guess what JR? You arent a pro, nor are you a GM, so their strategies, assuming they are right, will not work for you. Watching videos of the pros play does not make the players on my comp team last night pros. The current three tank meta can work. Until you lose and it doesnt. The best team composition is one that is confident, willing to change if needed and well versed on their own player, as well as what the enemy players are capable of. Thats it. Thats what makes a team win.
Haha. So last night, I had the pleasure of playing with Don Draper and Clutch. Clutch is around level 10, Don is around level 4. So, I think we broke the matchmaking system, in that, it was pairing entire teams of level 13, level 35 and so on. Imagine the evil grin on my face when I tab and see a bunch of level 13's. I nearly felt bad. Nearly...
I'm not saying that Pappa would fuck Torb, given a chance.... But he has been seen stalking gnomish scandinavian men in his hometown...
Is there a class in this game that plays like demoman? If so I may be persuaded to try it. Especially since my road dog Clutch in now apart of your cult.
Sort of, as Pong noted above. However, no player in OW is similar really to anything in TF2, in that sense. 6 on 6 is crazy fun too. And yea man, we're filling up groups now of all Fith. Get in here! ITS A BLAST!
