I haven't followed this too closely, but it will be interesting to see how they implement the free to play model. I don't care about skins and cosmetics, but it appears you have to unlock the champions via in game purchase.

 

Some idiot double posted. This is why we can't have nice things.

 

If anyone hasn't been crawling the internet for videos like me here's one of thump4 playing it at PAX. They have skins of weapons from previous quake games and the abilities work on a really long charge time. Really hoping they change the Quake 1 skins to show from the center though.



The crosshair moves around like crazy because of yotube's stabilization. There have been videos on other sites where it isn't weird.

 

We have a date! Beta starts April 6, so watch your inboxes. It's a gradual roll out, so if you're post here when you're able to play. Very exciting times.

Beta invites just went out and they say servers will only be up for this weekend. Haven't heard of anyone else getting a permanent invite so this might just be an initial stress test. It does require bethesda's launcher not steam.

 

If you get in on this wave you'll be in on all future waves as well they just won't have servers up full time for now.

I managed to get in on this current weekend 4/21-4/23. Couldn't spend as much time as I wanted playing but it's kinda got that old Quake feeling, got some opinions on certain things but need to play it more before judgement. April 27th it opens up again!
