Quake Champions closed beta

If it's like old Quake, I'm totally gonna buy this. Quake II was my first addiction. Back in the days when my mom would yell at me to get off the internet so she could make a phone call.

 

If anyone wants a key I have an extra one.

 

I'm hoping they turn on the social matchmaking feature this weekend. The 1 v 1 duel mode would be much more fun that way.

 

According to the forums you can't duel with friends yet and I don't think it will be possible until they put in custom matches. Personally I've never been a huge fan of duel but this version of it seems different enough to try out.

 

So they sent me three codes to invite friends to the closed beta. Lucky for you guys, I have no friends. So here you go:

Closed Beta Instructions

Feel free to send your friends these quick steps to redeeming their code and getting into the game!

1. Log in to your Bethesda.net account.
2. Redeem your code.
3. Download the Bethesda.net launcher and log in.
4. Download Quake Champions and get ready for the Closed Beta test.

Our next Closed Beta Test begins May 4th at 10:00AM EDT and runs until May7th at 4:00PM EDT. Keep an eye out for notifications on upcoming tests.

You can group with friends but so far it has only been for TDM. I'm down to group up tonight or any night this weekend. Playing TDM solo is terrible since the game doesn't match other stacks against each other yet like Overwatch does.

 

Don and I managed to get in a group together and play a couple of matches tonight so the system works although it is a bit finicky. Hopefully we can get at least one full group going tomorrow.

There will be a larger test friday that's open to everyone. It's gonna last a lot longer and include the new game mode they've been working on.

 

If anyone wants to get in a party together tomorrow let me know. It's the last day for this beta wave and playing solo can be a drag.

I'm gonna be on at about 8 eastern I think.

 

A big update just got released with a new champion (BJ Blazkowicz), new weapon, a bunch of new maps, and private matches so we can get an all FITH match going. It's also live 24/7 now and still open to everyone.
