So I picked up Stellaris on the Steam Sale (33% Off BTW). I'm enjoying it so far, right now I'm the leader of an interstellar empire consisting of religious fundamentalist koalas, so I got that going for me which is nice. If you like sci-fi or grand strategy games, you might want to give it a look.
I'm hooked baby, don't fuck with the Crab people though. I heard the Leviathan DLC is a must. Thinking about buying it. Would be up for some multiplayer too just to have my weekly fix of strats games
I picked up the DLC, there's something called an "Enigmatic Fortress" floating around in my neighbor's territory. It doesn't have a hit point number, just a big, scary looking skull. I sent a 3K fleet out to test it and it turned into a 1.5K fleet the second the fleet got into range. I ran away crying and peeing myself, I am now building a fuckton of Battleships to correct this mistake. The fleet is sitting at 11.5K and I'm not even at capacity yet, will update later with either a glorious victory or continued crying/pissing.
my only worry is the endgame. They need to clear up win conditions, because I can't see how you can win under a year a gameplay
Okay so here's what happened; I built a 16K fleet, sent it out to fight the fortress, and it got wiped out to man/koala. I cried a bunch and then started rebuilding, put together a 10K fleet, and managed to finish it off. Then it gave me an option to study it with a science ship. So I do that and the stupid science bitches accidentally turned the dang thing back on and it started attacking my ships again! So I killed it again, lost half my ships doing so, and now it won't let me research it any more. Screw that stupid fortress.
I'm voting for this game for the next Strategy game night. Until civ 6 gets a bunch of dlc. Honestly, any multiplayer strat would do....heroes of might and magic 3 maybe?
Sister got me $50 steam card for Christmas, just bought the base game, on sale for $20. Will buy the DLC if it comes on sale in the next few weeks.
Time is my main problem. My job has gotten more demanding recently and I've been traveling on Sunday nights a lot.
Since my Sundays are pretty booked, It would have to be on Saturdays, maybe once a month or something
