So I am excited about this and I thought I would share. See VAC ban statistics here https://steamdb.info/stats/bans/ The forms are fun to read right now if you like people saying their little brother did it. http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/9/ So anyone know any big name comp players that bit the dust today? Also Also
When the last big one happened teamfortress.tv, the ugc forums, and reddit all lit up like crazy with top players that got VAC'ed but they're quiet right now. Might take a day before the good stuff comes out or it might be a mainly CS:GO wave.
Could be mostly csgo the tracker can't distinguish it only tracks the vacuum ban not what game it comes from.
Check their steam profile, but if I remember from the last wave they need to log in to the game server before it shows up on their profile
The interesting thing I learned from the forums was that if somebody you shared games with (via the family option) cheated on one of your shared games, both accounts would get banned. That would piss me off something fierce if I got banned because of some asshole I shared games with. Thankfully I don't think my brothers have the technical expertise or desire to cheat. The lesson, as always, is to be selfish to be safe.
The strange part is that these alt accounts their phone numbers linked up for some reason. My question is who gets their phone numbers hooked on a alt account that is meant for hacking.
Some kid also got VAC banned from Unturned because his brother used hacks, but he posts it in the TF2 forums. EDIT. It turns out it's the VAC forums page.
This wave of bans is more interesting than the last, as it looks like there's going to be some litigation involved. I've done a bit of research, and while suits have not yet been filed they are clearly being prepared. I think you should take the time to read this affidavit. (The link is shared out of my google drive - there wasn't a good way to embed a readable image to this post). It's only a few paragraphs long, but it looks like thousands - maybe tens of thousands - of those banned were wrongfully accused. What a mess.
There's no way I was sitting in a conference room with a laptop waiting on a judge. Not what happened at all.
