So, I am the type to start a game, get frustrated/bored, then not play it again. I have been on a mission to change this habit, as I pay good money for these games. I should be playing them to the end. I figured we should have a thread about recent games you have beaten/completed. If for no other reason than to share your accomplishment. So, post the game you beat today, or very recently. And feel free to give a review for it, if you like. This may convince people to either buy the game, or play/finish the game if they already own it.
Remember Me https://store.steampowered.com/app/228300/Remember_Me/ Cool game, cyberpunk neo-Paris setting. Basically memories are the new currency, and as a memory hunter, you can actually remix people's memories to make them remember things the way you want them to. Story is pretty linear, which I enjoy. Fight mechanics are good, as you can go to the "combo lab" and create combos. This allows you to have combos that heal, shorten special attack cooldowns, or do extra damage. I think my only complaint is that it can be difficult to finish combos, due to having to dodge attacks from multiple sides. But with the right timing, all is well. Fun game, get it on sale.
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor https://store.steampowered.com/app/241930/ This game was a blast. Even if you aren't a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings, this game is a lot of fun. It uses the same fight mechanics as the Warner Brother Batman series of games. But WAY more fucking brutal! The executions are epic. The nemesis forge is a cool concept where you can cause upheaval in Sauron's army by influencing his captains and warlords.
Spec Ops: The Line https://store.steampowered.com/app/241930/ Whoa! The line refers to the line soldiers are forced to cross where the death of an innocent by your hand leads to the salvation of many other innocents. Save one, or save many. A paradox for the ages.Your decisions affect the outcome. Game is certainly a mind-fuck, and well worth the play.
Uncharted the Lost Legacy: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncharted:_The_Lost_Legacy Really enjoyed the whole Uncharted series. The story in lost legacy was pretty decent and they added some new game mechanics, such as lock picking, but I still liked Uncharted 4 better. Visually both games are outstanding.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus It may not be quite as good as The Old Blood and The New Order, but for a single player FPS it is a lot of fun. Not a short game and there are additional missions to play after you complete the main storyline. Minor quibbles like extra long cut scenes and some whiny dialog, but lots of good battles even on regular mode.
Just finished God of War. Story is awesome, acting is awesome, graphics and fighting are awesome. Everyone should play it. Finished Far Cry 5 a few weeks ago. It was pretty neat. Lots of replay value, plus all the silly glitches and random bear attacks are hilarious.
Finally made Bioshock Infinite my bitch. One of those games that has been in my backlog forever and I finally go around to it. Entertaining, but it shows its age, particularly in the AI department. I very rarely used the vigors, which I suppose sucks some of the fun out of the game. But the enemies are so easy to headshot into oblivion that the powers weren't really necessary. Worth a playthrough, but I can't see any reason to play through again on a harder difficulty.
The problem with the game is that the vigors will come in handy on hard mode and 1999 mode, the weapons in the game are underwhelming as well like at the Hall of Hero's where I can pick up those rifles, is the best weapon in the game and I never dropped it and I had my second weapon which ever it was. Other then that the game is great and I think the DLC is also worth checking out.
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition https://store.steampowered.com/app/501590/Bulletstorm_Full_Clip_Edition/ Ok, this is a wonderful nod to the Duke Nukem franchise (even as far as getting a Duke voice pack DLC). Brutal weapons and kill combos. Lots of visceral, gory kills. I enjoyed this game so much I immediately did a second play-through (which I never do) on "overkill" mode. This allows you to carry all the weapons at once, instead of 3 in the first play-through. Voice acting was spot-on, and the scripting was fantastic, great banter throughout the game. Put it on your wishlist and get it on sale.
Bayonetta https://store.steampowered.com/app/460790/ So apparently a critically-acclaimed console game for a long time, finally got a little overhaul and put on PC. Hot, racy, sexy, witch, Bayonetta, is awaken from exile after 500 years. Brought back to fight against heaven's armies, with a vengeance. Brutal, beautiful, kinky, a lot of cutscenes that enrich a great storyline (which is very linear). Play with a controller. Good times!
Dead Cells is a nice game to play, so far the Swtich version is the best selling version out there and I am really happy about it because Nintendo has never had a best selling game like that on their consoles (unless there was others but none I can count). Most of them get the best selling on the other consoles or PC so this was great news to hear.
