Don't know what games it will be, but Epic launcher is giving away a free game each week through the rest of 2019. They were doing a free one every other week, but decided to pick up the pace. Keep an eye out for some free shit you'll never play. Edit: Starting tomorrow it's Enter the Gungeon. Pretty pumped about that one.
I'd rather not have Chinese spyware on my machine. I know they say they don't have access, but come on, it's China. I can't trust them. Not to mention EGS collects data from Steam users
Just continually talk about how many weapons and military training you have. Should deter them from attacking the rockies. When you arent playing keep both versions of red dawn on repeat going through the computer and have it constantly pawing through gun forums.
Thanks, but not thanks. That software ain't going anywhere near my hard drive for the time being. While Steam isn't perfect and Valve needs to get their f***ing act together it is still my defacto game store. Epic Games is never going to get a cent or byte of support out of me.
There are definitely red flags here, not least of which was the Steam data scraping a while back. It all comes down to your risk tolerance, as I've not been convinced one way or the other regarding spyware by what I've read. Making things potentially worse is the fact that Tencent is all over the gaming world, with minority ownership interests in Epic, Blizzard, and Ubisoft.
I'm no Epic fanboy, they haven't gotten a cent out of me yet either. That said, I do think Steam needs some serious competition. And the fact that Epic lets the developers keep substantially more money off each sale (88% on Epic vs. 70% on Steam) means we'll likely see more and more games going that way.
You guys are nuts with your electronic storefront loyalty. No corporation deserves a monogamous relationship with me. Free is free and I'm snatching up all the free games I can get. Besides, Unreal Tournament 2004 was one of the best online multiplayer games ever. Tf2 even stole some of their maps. Buy some stock in Tencent and STFU with the fanboy nonsense.
Besides, Tencent is only a holder of interest, not Epic per se. They are basically the Chinese Whatsapp or Twitter. Also, I gave them my money. They are having a $10 off every game sale. That's not bad. I bought Satisfactory and am down to start a server and play with anyone interested. It's 3D Factorio.
OK, HERE'S WHY EVERYONE IS WRONG: EPIC IS USING FORTNIGHT MONEY TO GIVE OUT FREE GAMES. YOU ARE TURNING DOWN FREE MONEY THAT CAME FROM FORTNIGHT PLAYERS.
I'm continuing to collect the free games. Some look pretty interesting. It will be nice to have a good stack of stuff to play when pubg dies.
They will not. One was in the works around 2014 and they cut off development around 2018 to put all developers on fortnight. You can still play it but it is still very much in a pre-alpha state.
