some of my favorite games of yesteryear: Ape escape Tomba/tomba 2 Spyro Dragon warrior on gameboy, dragon warrior monsters GBA The original pokemon gameboy series/crystal/sapphire Animal crossing gamecube Windwaker gamecube Just saw a random picture that had a monkey from ape escape that didn’t reference the game that flooded back some nostalgia. What are some of your favorite games that you would still go pick up and play? I played a lot if FPS growing up, but I don’t think i could trade the FPS of today for them.
Baulders Gate Dark Alliance 1&2. One of the best hack n slash games I’ve played. Wish I could find something similar as I believe it was on the original Xbox system.
Mario Kart 64, I was not around when that console was made but I sure loved it. DAMN IT MOM WHY DID YOU HAVE TO THROW OUT THR N64?????
Unreal Tournament 2k4, I loved the vehicles and weapon selection and Onslaught was the best game mode. The quake announcer voice mod was great too. "Quad kill, multi kill, rampage, HOLY SHIT!!!!" Baldur's Gate Goldeneye Mario Kart 64 Final Fantasy 7 Final Fantasy 1
SSBM, Marvel vs Capcom 2, old school sanic, Bubble Bobble, Marble Madness, Starfox 64, GoldenEye 007, pretty much anything from the super mario franchise, Tiger Heli, Resident Evil 4, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, Quake II, Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 (maybe 3...), Super Street Fighter 2, Diablo II, Doom, Duke Nukem, Cool Spot (the 7 Up game)... and the list goes on...

Kya: Dark Linage on the PS2 Now, don't get me wrong. On a scale of 1 to 10, Kya is a definite 5. Maybe a 4. The game is completely unfinished and it's also saved by its beautiful art style and sweet music. Listen to this: I love that song. It makes me happy as shit. It loops too. Unlike other unfinished games, Kya's glitches are pretty fucking hilarious. There's this boomerang you can throw and then control with your mind. Except because the game isn't finished, most of the collision for the boomerang is nonexistent so you can literally just go through walls and get into areas way earlier than you were supposed to. It's fun to use that boomerang to see the entire level just because the game devs forgot its not supposed to go through walls. Hell, there's a character who isn't programmed to have any dialogue. He's a fucking test character, just walking around. I think he was supposed to be a lip-sync testing character because when you try to speak to him, he goes into a T-pose and says Hello several times except the Hellos are all from the different voice actors for that npc race. This game is packed full of bugs and I spent/spend a lot of time fucking with them. It's got a cool fighting system that actually works pretty well. I don't really like combo fighting games but Kya pulls it off. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous too and I've always loved that floating in the middle of space for no reason bullshit. Also Spyro. The first song I ever remember hearing was Dark Hollow theme from Spyro 1, not even joking. I've got that goddamned game on lockdown. Occasionally, I'll go back and beat the trilogy for old-times sake (FUCK THAT YETI RACE) but I never really experienced the wonder I felt when I first played Spyro the Dragon again. Sometimes I'll blast the soundtrack and I'll get a little hint of that floating-high-as-hell feeling in my chest from that time but it's not as strong as it used to be. And I'll admit it. Sometimes when I'm really drunk, I'll boot up Spyro 1 and spent an hour running around Dark Hollow and the Artisan Homeworld and get a little teary. Spyro makes me emotional, man.
Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II - The first multiplayer game I played in 1997 on a 56k connection. I have it and will still play the single player once in a blue moon.
I don't know why, but I've really wanted to get a C64 emulator running and play BattleTech: The Crecent Hawk's Inception. I could never finish it because my C64 crashed all the time.
