Topic Ok, I've had an inkling of starting some pugs on a weekly basis (Saturday? Sure.). I don't have a server but if someone can help on that that'd be fucking awesome. Anyway format is this: 12-18 people show up (12 for 6s, 18 for Highlander). I'd like to try for Highlander numbers, but that'd be ok to start with less and have subs. If we have subs, we'll call out for people to drop out voluntarily and will not be in the picking for next round. If we're close to starting (ie: 10/16), I might try pulling other people in but that's unlikely. If we don't have enough within 30 minutes of start time, I'm calling it quits. I'm hoping this could last for at least two maps. (So an hour or two?) Rounds: We will be playing 1 half-round per map. I think the more maps we play through; the better. (Thoughts?) Picking format: Everyone goes into spec once it's called. Last two are Captains. Captains pick on a round robin format after they duel as frying pan medics, with winner picking first. Captains DO NOT have to be medics once teams are picked. The team as a whole then select what classes they want to play. Reminder on Class limits: Highlander: 1 of every class at any given time (you CAN switch classes, but one of you must go into spec and go back to a team right after due to limits enforced be competitive mode) 6s: Demonman: 1 Medic: 1 All other classes are limited to 2 at any given time (so no 3 snipers or spies lel)* * For people starting on 6s: A lot of people like to pick Soldier and Scout due to their mobility and off-class based on the situation All communications will be done on Discord or TS (whichever is more convenient) I don't know the current map rotation so yeah, so if someone with server shit can help with installing competitive settings would be super awesome too. Any thoughts would be helpful. I know there some folks out there who want to have a taste at competitive, especially now that our HL/6s team has folded. I might try seeing if we can start up a private lobby on TFCenter or something.
6s generally has a limit of 1 for engineer and heavy as well. Some leagues also used to limit pyro and sniper to 1 but that's not universal and I haven't kept up with the rules at all. Edit: Also I should've probably mentioned that I'm down to play if PUGs happen.
This would be fantastic, and IMO a much better use of our second server. I'm in for some Saturday tryhard, just let me know.
We got a lot of people. We have been playing since 2009. I think we have a lot of alternates. Start asking the people who are not members. I would love to have 97 and Illegal playing. Best heavy and spy I have ever seen. Name the best snipers, scouts, heavys, medics, soldiers that we have. vote. WE ALL KNOW WHERE EACH OTHER IS AND WHAT TO DO. THIS IS MY POINT\
Depending on what the schedules work out to be I'd be down to play something other than engi or the support classes. I'm unfortunately pretty absurdly busy during any given week so I may or may not be able to commit the necessary amount of time.
