For those unaware the original Quake got an update today so it now actually works on windows without needing to install a source port. It has some technical issues still but overall it seems to run really well. If anyone wants I would love to get some people together for coop or deathmatch sometime this weekend. As a sidenote the new version supports user configs so I tested it and discovered my spamming script works. Didn't even change anything, just copied and pasted.
The overlap between Quake and GoldSrc/Source is kind of fascinating, especially since your script works without modification.
All it needs to work is the alias and say commands which seems to have stayed constant. But there is one problem I found. The say command does exist and work in singleplayer, in multiplayer they replaced it with something from the Kex engine. I suspect they were smart and wanted to prevent exactly what I was going to do with it. It's also possible they were randomly changing shit, certain things like mouse buttons are named different in the remaster and I have no idea why.
