I've started using this forum a lot more but I'm wondering when will the links be updated from the old one to the new one. It's still linking to the old one, unless you guys are still trying to figure out how to get the login for this forum to work on the website to link to this one. Wouldn't it be better just to redirect everyone to here (and force everyone to make a new account anyway) and do the background stuff on the old one in the meantime? It would have people know that we have the new forums.
I wanted to handle initial registration in small waves (SA's ---> Admins and Moderators ---> Members (We are here.) ----> Open for Public), just so I can get everyone into their respected usergroups easier and make sure people have the correct permissions in their specific forums. I didn't want to have to deal with a large influx of people registering all at once. Once I feel everything is set and ready to go (soon), I will post an announcement on the old forum and steam group(s).
Makes sense. I'm just worried that if people is still using the old forums, wouldn't that mean there would be more things to bring in/archived?
As in any transitional period, we want to have minimal to no downtime during the migration. There isn't that much happening on the old forums that would need to be moved over. There are a couple of recruitment threads, but they have already been moved to the new forums.
