Kinda jealous. Guess they're really difficult to get right now because most online stores are listing prices way over $80. I still have all my old systems and a drawer full of classic NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBA, and Genesis games. I've been looking at a system like this (Hyperkin RetroN 5 Retro Video Gaming System - Black) that can play all those cartridges, but the lukewarm reviews keep stopping me. Would love to play those games again without having to break out and set up each system. Plus, I don't think my old NES even works anymore.
Yeah, the one critique I have if or when you purchase it is that the controller cord is really short. So you will have to purchase an extension cord for the controller. Other than that, it is great. Highly recommended at the price I purchased it at and given that the North America market continues to sell out of these I would expect to see a SNES, N64 and possible GameCube classics being manufactured in the future.
I have a SNES with Super Mario World and one for display yes I have 2 SNES's but one time I did have a N64 until my mom got rid of it cause we had a Nintendo Wii worst mistake of her life.
Very jealous. I wish you could insert the cartridges, like the Genesis mini-console, but having HDMI is so much easier than getting the old systems hooked up properly.
A guy I worked with had roms of all of these on a raspberry pi with some generic USB controllers. It's some custom linux that boots up and you select which gaming system you want to emulate, then lists the games for that system. Had like 4000 games for systems from atari to n64, perhaps newer.
Yeah, some people (including Gary & Co.) have made some legit setups using emulators. I honestly just want to be able to use my old cartridges. I saved them for so long...
